Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz has announced the introduction of minority welfare cards to support deserving families throughout the province.
Speaking at a Diwali celebration event in Lahore, CM Maryam Nawaz expressed her deep respect and commitment to the welfare of the minority community, calling them “a crown on her head.”
The Chief Minister announced that the Punjab government would launch minority welfare cards for eligible families across the province on December 20.
Extending Diwali greetings to the Hindu community, CM Maryam Nawaz also pledged a gift of Rs 150,000 for each of 1,400 families.
Earlier in the week, CM Maryam Nawaz inaugurated the ‘Kisan Card Programme’ in Hafizabad, aimed at providing essential financial support to small farmers.
Through this initiative, farmers can receive loans of up to Rs 150,000 per crop season to purchase seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides using their Kisan Cards.
During the event in Hafizabad, CM Maryam Nawaz announced an increase in the program’s budget to expand the issuance of Kisan Cards from 500,000 to 750,000.
She explained that applicants could register by sending their ID card number to 8070 from their registered mobile number. Additionally, she announced free laser levelers for wheat farmers cultivating between 12.5 and 25 acres, while those with over 25 acres would receive free tractors. She also noted that agricultural equipment would be rented out to farmers at no profit.
