Former Pakistani cricketer Saeed Anwar has urged the fans to report any social media accounts linked to his name as he does not hold the authorship of any posts.
In a video message circulated on the internet, Saeed apprised the public of his predicament and urged the users to not follow any accounts boasting his name. He wrote,
Some people are using accounts with my name on Facebook, Twitter and other social media that spread fake news. I request whoever comes across such accounts to not pay attention to what is being said and to report him so that he is unmasked.

Anwar found plenty of support after his claims with several current and former cricketers asking their followers to report the concerned social media accounts.
Saeed Anwar has largely been absent from the public eye since bidding farewell to cricket opting to spend time in the promotion of his religion.
He has reportedly turned down lucrative offers to return to the game as a coach but continues to dedicate time to his new cause which assures that he does not faff about social media.
The left-hander represented Pakistan for 12 years before walking away at just 34 years of age.
Anwar’s crowning moment came in 1997 when he smashed a then-record 194 against arch-rivals India in Chennai—a score that stood as the highest in One Day Internationals for 12 years. He went on to score 8,824 runs in 247 ODIs, including 20 centuries, and was equally prolific in Test cricket scoring 4,052 runs in 91 innings, punctuated by 11 centuries.
