Has Islamabad Police Reduced Working Hours of Banks After Recent Robberies?

Islamabad Police has clarified that it has not issued any directives for changing banking hours within the city, dismissing recent speculation on the matter.

In a statement on X (formerly Twitter), the federal police stated that all banks are operating on their standard schedules with no adjustments made.

While no new timings have been introduced, the police have shared specific recommendations aimed at boosting security across financial institutions. These suggestions are part of a broader effort to strengthen safeguards for both employees and clients within the banking sector.

Islamabad Police has stressed that any official announcements, especially those involving operational changes or security guidelines, will be provided exclusively by the Public Relations Branch to avoid misinformation.

It is pertinent to mention that, following a series of bank robberies in the federal capital earlier this week, rumors about the early closure of banks circulated on social media. However, Islamabad Police has dismissed these rumors as false.

Meanwhile, police have increased security outside banks in the federal capital, deploying both police and Frontier Corps (FC) personnel.
