Punjab Announces Nursing Universities in 3 Cities

Punjab Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique on Friday announced that nursing universities would be established in Lahore, Rawalpindi and Multan as part of efforts to strengthen nursing education and improve healthcare services in the province.

Speaking at a World Play Day event at the University of Child Health Sciences (UCHS), the minister said the Punjab government had doubled nursing admissions from 3,000 to 6,000 and upgraded nursing colleges across the province.

He added that modern equipment had been provided to nursing laboratories and efforts were underway to train nurses according to international standards.

Khawaja Salman Rafique said Pakistani nurses were highly valued worldwide for their professional skills and dedication. He added that the government was committed to improving nursing education and healthcare services.

The minister also announced that 450 additional medical seats would be introduced next year. He said specialized healthcare centers were being established at the district level, while training programs for nurses, including courses in stroke management, were also being launched.
