Islamabad to Get Cricket High Performance Soon?

Cricket in the twin cities could see a significant boom, with reports suggesting that Islamabad could soon get its own High-Performance Centre.

According to sources, Chairman of Capital Development Authority (CDA) Ali Randhawa recently held a meeting with the CEO of Lahore Qalandars Atif Rana with the upgradation of cricketing grounds in Islamabad as the main agenda.

The meeting yielded positive responses from both sides as Qalandars have expressed interest in constructing a High-Performance centre in Islamabad, undertaking the responsibility from the ground up.

Although the location has not been finalized, F9 Park has been suggested as an option for the future

Although there have been promises of establishing a state-of-the-art cricketing facility in Islamabad before, the Qalandars’ involvement in the project gives the idea more legitimacy this time. The PSL franchise already operates its own High-Performance centre in Lahore.

The QHPC is a top-tier facility equipped with state-of-the-art gyms, astro and turf pitches, and access to skilled coaching personnel.

Beyond physical training, QHPC offers a comprehensive suite of courses that cover everything an athlete needs to succeed, including fitness, injury management, nutrition, doping regulations, game strategy, ethical conduct, anti-corruption protocols, career planning, sports psychology, and media communication skills.

QHPC has already contributed many stars to the Pakistan cricket team, and PCB hopes that another such facility can unearth more players in the future.
