Lahore Qalandars have announced the appointment of former England cricketer Darren Gough as their new head coach.
The announcement comes as the team prepares for the upcoming Global Super League, set to kick off in Guyana on November 26.
The management of Lahore Qalandars expressed their excitement over the new appointment. In an official statement, they said,
We are thrilled to appoint Darren Gough as head coach. He will begin his responsibilities with the team in the upcoming Global Super League.
Darren Gough, known for his illustrious career as a fast bowler for England, shared his enthusiasm about joining the Qalandars. Gough stated:
It’s an honor to work with Lahore Qalandars. I have previously supported their Player Development Program in Lahore, and I look forward to this new role with the team.
Sameen Rana, the Chief Operating Officer of Lahore Qalandars, warmly welcomed Gough to the team. “We are excited to have Darren on board, and his experience will greatly strengthen our foundation,” Rana remarked.
Darren Gough is set to join the Qalandars squad in Guyana on November 23, just days before the commencement of the Global Super League.
The tournament, featuring five teams from five different countries, will commence on November 26 and culminate with the final on December 7, offering a substantial prize pool of $1 million.
The Lahore Qalandars will kick off their campaign against the Guyana Amazon Warriors from the Caribbean Premier League (CPL).
