Salaries of Pakistan Cricket Team Revealed

The salaries of the centrally contracted players of the Pakistan Cricket Team have been revealed after the recent announcement by PCB that the deals have been completed.

Despite a slight increase in the ICC revenue share, the new contracts leave match fees and monthly salaries unchanged from the previous term. In a surprise move, PCB decided not to award contracts to several notable players like Fakhar Zaman, Imam-ul-Haq, and Sarfaraz Ahmed.

The players are yet to sign their deals as most left for the tour of Australia but PCB is planning to obtain player signatures via email to get the deals over the line.

Here is the breakdown of the salaries of the Pakistan Cricket team.

Category A:

Superstars Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan lead the top tier, taking home a monthly base salary of PKR 4.5 million. Their ICC share sees a boost to PKR 2.07 million (up from PKR 1.53 million), pushing their monthly total to an impressive PKR 6.57 million.

Category B:

Category B cricketers, including pace aces Shaheen Shah Afridi and Naseem Shah, alongside all-rounder Shan Masood, will pocket PKR 3 million per month. The ICC share in this category has also been increased to PKR 1.552 million, raising the monthly total to PKR 4.552 million.

Category C:

Emerging talents like Abdullah Shafique and Abrar Ahmed, along with mainstays like Shadab Khan, are listed in Category C. These players will receive PKR 1 million per month in base salary, with an ICC share boost bringing their total monthly earnings to PKR 2.035 million.

Category D:

In the entry-level Category D, names like Aamir Jamal and Mohammad Wasim Junior will see a base monthly salary of PKR 750,000, with a revised ICC share that raises their total monthly pay to PKR 1.267 million.

Match fees across formats have not been altered with Test matches paying PKR 1,257,795, ODIs PKR 644,620, and T20Is PKR 418,584. Additionally, central contract holders can count on domestic game compensation, earning PKR 628,898 for a four-day game, PKR 322,310 per ODI, and PKR 209,292 for each T20 match played.

With improved contracts, the PCB aims to keep players motivated amid upcoming international assignments, though the omission of high-profile players remains a contentious point that fans and analysts will be watching closely.
