In a robust crackdown on corruption, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Islamabad Zone has taken disciplinary measures against 19 immigration officials stationed at Islamabad International Airport (IIAP).
Following numerous complaints about misconduct and bribery, four officials were dismissed from service, 13 faced demotion, and two were transferred to administrative roles, according to FIA sources.
The action came after Islamabad Zone Director Shehzad Nadeem Bukhari initiated a detailed inquiry into allegations against these officials. After conducting personal hearings in September, authorities determined that the accused were unable to justify their conduct amid the charges.
Show-cause notices were issued under the Civil Servants (Efficiency & Discipline) Rule 2020, and after hearings, authorities confirmed the charges. Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Asim Gulzar, Head Constable Habib Ahmed, Saeedullah, and Lady Constable Nimra were dismissed.
Among the 13 officials demoted due to severe charges were ASI Muhammad Faheem, Usman Aslam, Tahir Safeer, Shafqat Haider, Waseem Abbas, and several head constables. Sub-Inspector Talat Naseem was reassigned to the Admin Branch, while ASI Sheikh Waseem was suspended and transferred.
