Shoaib Malik Reveals the Story Behind Wearing ‘Bandana’

Shoaib Malik has finally lifted the lid on his infamous accessory choice during the later days of his playing career, the bandana.

In an in-depth conversation with ProPakistani’s How Does it Work? Podcast Malik revealed the harmless reason for choosing to wear the headwear.

Malik explained,

There was a very simple reason behind it.  I sweat a lot and when you wear a helmet that can get into your eyes. I wanted to get rid of that because sometimes when a bowler is about to deliver the ball, the sweat messes with your vision.

Whatever the reason, the accouterment became an instant talk of the town with the public labeling him a fashion icon. 

Malik would take his accessory with him across the globe, donning the gear during his adventures in the Caribbean, US leagues, and the Pakistan Super League. 

Since retiring from international cricket Shoaib Malik has kept himself busy with cricketing activities as both a player and a mentor while also appearing as an analyst during Pakistan cricket team’s fixtures.
