Why is PTV Sports Not Broadcasting Pakistan’s Match Against Australia?

While Pakistan dominated Australia in the second ODI at Adelaide, thousands of fans back home missed their chance to witness the moment as the state broadcaster Pakistan Television (PTV) Sports suddenly stopped broadcasting the game.

All seemed well until the middle of Pakistan’s batting when the channel suddenly stopped the broadcast leaving fans across the country confused. The channel also did not issue any messages about technical issues which can occur during a live event.

According to a prominent sports journalist, PTV is dealing with some monetary issues which caused the issue. According to sources, the national sports channel purchased the broadcasting rights from another distributor but allegedly failed to make the promised payment in time causing the loss of live feed. With no live feed to broadcast, PTV Sports could not broadcast the remainder of the game.
PTV Sports will not be able to telecast any more games until the issue is resolved.

The news is a hammer blow for the fans who do not have access to OTT Platforms or other sources as PTV was the only channel responsible for bringing the game to fans on cable networks.

The PTV management has not responded to these claims and everyone will likely have to wait until the 3rd ODI to see if the matter has been resolved. The channel was heavily advertising the scintillating series through eye-catching vignettes so the recent developments are a disappointment for everyone involved.

PTV’s loss might be others game as other sports channels can now swoop in and secure broadcasting rights of the series which is nicely poised at 1-1.
