Recently, Pakistan Railways launched a special train from Karachi to Raiwind on November 6 as well. This train, which consists of 14 economy-class coaches, is expected to generate approximately Rs. 8.5 million in revenue and support Pakistan Railways’ goal to exceed Rs. 100 billion in revenue for the 2024-25 fiscal year.

In the previous fiscal year, Pakistan Railways achieved a record income of Rs. 88 billion, a 40 percent increase over the previous year.

Revenue sources included Rs. 47 billion from ticket sales, Rs. 28 billion from freight services, and Rs. 13 billion from leasing railway land and other channels.

PR CEO Amir Ali Baloch has attributed this success to service improvements. He said Eid’s special trains achieved full bookings and reinforced public trust in Pakistan Railways’ services.
