Pakistani Player Receives Heroes Welcome After Baseball Triumph

Pakistan Baseball Team’s pitcher Faisal Hayat received a hero’s welcome upon returning home from the Arab Classic Tournament held in UAE.

The 21-year-old was instrumental in scripting Pakistan’s triumph in the championship, helping his side go unbeaten throughout the competition.

Upon his return to his native village of Chakkoki in the Punjab Province, Faisal was warmly welcomed by his community with hundreds turning up to receive their hero.

A celebratory party was also organised in his honour with a vibrant atmosphere winning the hearts of everyone in attendance.

Faisal Hayat debuted for Pakistan in their third match of the Arab Classic against India, helping his side ease to a 12-0 win before they set off in their successful pursuit of winning the pennant.

With several children in attendance as well, Faisal may have very well inspired the next generation of Pakistani baseball enthusiasts with his performance.

Despite niche sports like Baseball holding a second-grade status in Pakistan, the country has continued to produce talents like Faisal Hayat who have shone on the biggest stages of the world with the Arab Classic just another example.

Pakistan currently ranks 36th in the World Baseball Rankings but with just a little burnishing of the talent could achieve much more in the sport.

Pakistan’s Baseball federation fielded just 14 players in the tournament due to scarcity of the talent pool despite having another slot available which underlines the need to develop more players which can only be brought together when more attention is given to the national heroes.
