According to a private news channel, a woman has been arrested from Lyari in Karachi for allegedly stealing gold from a neighboring house and then selling it to finance an Umrah pilgrimage.
Baghdadi Police reported that a complaint of 20 tolas of stolen gold jewelry was filed at the station on October 27. Police detained a man named Imran based on intelligence, who disclosed that his wife, Shehnaz, was responsible for the theft.
Officers arrested Shehnaz, recovering three tolas of gold and Rs. 1.5 million in cash. Authorities revealed that she had taken the jewelry from a neighbor’s home while the family was away, selling 17 tolas to fund her pilgrimage.
The investigation is ongoing, with police conducting further raids to retrieve the remaining gold and apprehend any accomplices.
