In a bid to revive Pakistan’s squash legacy, the Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) is teaming up with Serena Hotels to host the Chief of the Air Staff-Serena Hotels International Squash Championship.
The tournament, set to take place at Islamabad’s prestigious Mushaf Squash Complex from November 18 to 22, promises an intense five days of world-class competition and boasts a prize pool of $15,000.
During a press briefing on Thursday, Secretary PSF, Air Commodore (R) Amir Nawaz, highlighted the tournament’s global appeal, revealing that alongside seven Pakistani contenders, 17 international players from across the globe have confirmed their participation.
The diverse line-up includes players from Belgium, Hong Kong-China, Ireland, and the Netherlands, with larger contingents from Egypt, Malaysia, Kuwait, and England.
Notably, Egypt’s World No. 62, Ibrahim Elkabbani, heads the seeds, followed closely by Pakistan’s rising star, World No. 82, Noor Zaman.
Acknowledging Serena Hotels’ significant role in backing this event, Amir Nawaz expressed gratitude for their continuous support, hoping the partnership would help pave the way for future squash development in Pakistan.
Vice President of the Pakistan Squash Federation, Qamar Zaman, along with other PSF and Serena Hotels officials, also attended the event, underscoring the importance of collaboration in promoting Pakistan’s rich squash heritage.
