The district administration conducted a mock exercise in preparation for the upcoming snowfall season, involving personnel from various departments, including the Pakistan Army, district administration, Highway Mechanical Department, Rescue 1122, PDMA, Police, City Traffic Police, Forestry, Tourism, and Health Departments.
The drill aimed to ensure readiness for assisting citizens stranded in severe weather conditions or snow, evacuating affected individuals to safe locations, responding promptly to road accidents, clearing roads, restoring traffic during landslides, and other critical tasks. The primary objective was to evaluate the performance and coordination of all allied departments ahead of the snowfall.
The exercise featured the use of heavy snow-clearing machinery, rescue ambulances, chemical spraying vehicles, fire tenders, and other departmental resources. Simulated emergency scenarios were staged, with alerts issued via telephone calls to test practical response capabilities.
Murree’s Deputy Commissioner supervised the drills, closely monitoring the response times of various agencies during mock accident scenarios.
