The Men in Green have announced the inclusion of three players to the squad for the upcoming Zimbabwe vs Pakistan T20 series.
The decision comes after some impressive outings for the three players in the ODI series and also due to Ahmed Daniyal, a key pacer in the original squad, suffering a hamstring injury that ruled him out of the series. Daniyal, who also missed the third ODI against Zimbabwe due to the injury, has been sent back to Pakistan to recover.
The three players, Saim Ayub, Aamer Jamal, and Abrar Ahmed have been included in the squad on the back of solid performances in the 50-over format.
The updated squad now features a mix of experienced players and young talent. Saim Ayub, a promising batter, and Aamer Jamal, an all-rounder known for his adaptability, are expected to strengthen the team’s batting and bowling depth. Abrar Ahmed, a rising star in spin bowling, is also included, adding variety to Pakistan’s attack on Zimbabwean pitches that often favor spinners.
The three-match Zimbabwe vs Pakistan T20 series is set to begin on Sunday, December 1, 2024, with the first T20I scheduled to start at 4:00 PM Pakistan Standard Time in Bulawayo.
This series provides Pakistan with an opportunity to test its bench strength and experiment with combinations ahead of future international assignments. The team will look to dominate the series while also giving its younger players a chance to shine.
Here is the updated squad for the T20 series:
Aamer Jamal | Abrar Ahmed | Arafat Minhas | Haris Rauf | Haseebullah (wk) | Jahandad Khan |
Abbas Afridi | Mohammad Hasnain | Irfan Khan Niazi | Omair Bin Yousuf | Qasim Akram | Sahibzada Farhan |
