Banking and ATMs Suffer Amid Internet Disruption, Creating Long Queues

Customers depositing money in banks are facing difficulties due to the recent internet disruptions following the anti-government protests in Islamabad. Transactions that used to take minutes are now delayed by hours, causing frustration among citizens.

Affected citizens are often left asking: “Where should we go with cash in hand?”. The situation has gotten so bad that long queues have started to form outside of banks as well as ATMs.

Videos have been circulating on social media from citizens recording their experiences with banks and ATMs. One citizen recorded himself standing in front of a bank entrance with several others in a queue in the background. He explained how he was denied bank services due to a lack of internet connection while others were unable to deposit cash as well.

He pleaded with the government to fix these internet issues to stop these disruptions in their daily lives.
