The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has released a detailed traffic advisory for visitors planning a trip to Murree. DG Irfan Ali Kathia, representing the NDMA, emphasized the importance of safety measures as the region experiences continuous rain and snowfall. Weather forecasts predict this trend will persist over the next 24 hours, potentially impacting road conditions and traffic flow.
To counter the challenges posed by the weather, local authorities have begun treating roads with salt to reduce slipperiness and ensure safer travel. DG Kathia urged the Murree administration to remain vigilant and proactive. He instructed them to deploy heavy machinery for the prompt removal of snow to keep highways operational.
The NDMA has also established 13 facilitation centers across Murree to assist and guide tourists. These centers aim to provide essential information and services, helping visitors navigate challenging conditions more safely.
Tourists are advised to check weather updates before embarking on their journey. As Murree attracts numerous visitors during the winter season, taking precautions is critical to avoid unfortunate incidents. The public has been urged to act responsibly and avoid unnecessary travel under adverse weather conditions.
