The National Women’s One-Day Tournament has reached its thrilling conclusion as Conquerors and Stars claimed decisive victories in their respective matches to secure spots in the final.
The final showdown is set for Sunday at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
At the Diamond Cricket Ground in Islamabad, Conquerors delivered a dominant performance against Strikers to clinch a six-wicket victory.
Batting first, Strikers were bundled out for 150 runs in 41.3 overs. Despite wickets falling at regular intervals, Aleena Masood stood firm with an unbeaten 64 off 131 balls, hitting four boundaries and one six while carrying the bat. Conquerors’ Hafsa Khalid led the bowling charge, taking 4-23 in 6.3 overs. Nashra Sundhu provided valuable support with 2-14 in nine overs.
In response, Conquerors chased the target comfortably in 30.4 overs, losing only four wickets. Fatima Sana’s unbeaten 56 off 43 balls (7x4s, 2x6s) and Najiha Alvi’s 40 not out off 49 balls guided the team home with a 94-run fifth-wicket stand. Hafsa Khalid was named Player of the Match for her stellar bowling performance.
At the Shoaib Akhtar Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi, Stars registered a comprehensive 82-run victory over Invincibles.
Opting to bat first, Stars posted an imposing 223-7 in 45 overs. Lower-order batter Tuba Hassan played a scintillating innings, smashing an unbeaten 61 off just 31 balls, laced with seven fours and three sixes. Kaynat Hafeez (50 off 90 balls) and Sidra Nawaz (50 off 74 balls) also contributed crucial half-centuries.
Invincibles’ Tania Saeed was the standout bowler, picking up 3-38 in her nine overs.
In reply, Invincibles managed only 141 runs in 40.2 overs. Opener Ayesha Zafar top-scored with 46 off 54 balls, including seven boundaries, and shared a 71-run stand with Aisha Naeem (19 off 47). However, the Stars’ bowlers, led by Neelam Mushtaq (5-22) and Tuba Hassan (3-38), dismantled the batting lineup. Neelam and Tuba shared Player of the Match honors for their all-round contributions.
Stars advanced to the final based on their superior net run rate, finishing level on 10 points with Invincibles in the league standings. They will face the unbeaten Conquerors in what promises to be an enthralling 45-over contest.
