The government has introduced a loan scheme for officers of Pakistan Administrative Services (PAS) and Provincial Management Service (PMS), allowing them to borrow funds at a minimal 2% markup.
A committee, chaired by Finance Secretary Mujahid Sherdil, has been formed to manage the program.
The initiative provides officers with significant financial support, with loan limits determined by their grade:
- Grade 17 officers can apply for loans up to Rs. 5 million.
- Grade 18 officers are eligible for up to Rs. 15 million.
- Officers in grades 19 and 20 can secure up to Rs. 20 million.
- Senior officers in grades 21 and 22 can borrow as much as Rs. 250 million.
The loans can be repaid through easy installments, ensuring affordability for those utilizing the facility. This program aims to offer financial relief and convenience to government officers across various levels.

It is a great initiative.
There is not one but 2 Pakistans. One is for the Pakistanis and the other one is for government employees. 250 million (25 crore loan) for any 21-22 grade employee is huge. They can take away this massive loan and can simply put it in national saving schemes to earn huge money.

This scheme should be for every government officer why only PAS and PMS that are already very much privileged.
Such discrimination is detrimental for government affairs as a whole.
Present government has crossed all limits to please the beaurecracy. Forget civil service reforms.

Why only to PAS and PMS ?
This facility should be for all cadres of civil servents of Government of Pakistan in order to avoid feeling of discrimination.
Let one group start getting something be it Civ ofrs or Uniformed. Later it would be extended to all.
This is not a loan rather it is a kind of bribe.
Why the officers level need loan… It should be to the low or middle level grade employes

Any favor should be linked to punishment under article six if found any public servent civil defence political judicial financial against interest of public and nation, under speedy trial courts.
A single corupt one, should not be part of public service organ of state.

The already corrupt will have another avenue to make money. Take a loan on 2% per annum from government and give to the needy @ 8% per month. What a great business!
