Oppo has introduced two new additions to its Reno 13 series, the Reno 13F and Reno 13F 5G. These smartphones cater to users looking for 4G or 5G connectivity for cheap, offering solid specifications and advanced features. While the two models share several similarities, they differ in terms of internal hardware and certain capabilities.
Design and Display
The Oppo Reno 13F and Reno 13F 5G feature 6.67-inch OLED displays that deliver a 1080p+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, ensuring smooth visuals and sharp details. These displays boast 100% coverage of both the sRGB and DCI-P3 color spaces, with a peak brightness of 1,200 nits, guaranteeing clear visibility even in direct sunlight.
Engineered with durable Dragontrail Star 2 glass, these displays are built to withstand the test of time. Both models boast an IP6X rating for dust resistance, along with IPX6, IPX8, and IPX9 ratings for water resistance. This means they can handle submersion in up to two meters of water for 30 minutes and withstand powerful high-temperature water jets.
Internals and Software
The key difference between the Reno 13F and Reno 13F 5G lies in their chipsets. The Reno 13F 5G is powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset, offering efficient performance and 5G support. It comes with LPDDR4X RAM options of 8 GB or 12 GB and storage capacities of 128 GB, 256 GB, or 512 GB, using the faster UFS 3.1 standard.
The Reno 13F 4G runs on the Helio G100 chipset with 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and storage options of 256 GB or 512 GB, using UFS 2.2. Both models include a microSD card slot for expandable storage. The devices run Oppo’s ColorOS, which includes basic customization and performance optimization features.
Camera
Both models feature a triple-camera setup on the back. This includes a 50MP primary camera with an f/1.8 aperture and optical image stabilization (OIS) for clear images, an 8MP ultra-wide camera with a 112° field of view, and a 2MP macro camera for close-up shots.
On the front, a 32MP camera with an f/2.4 aperture and an 82° field of view is available for selfies and video calls. The Reno13 F 5G supports 4K video recording at 30fps, while the Reno13 F is limited to 1080p recording.
Battery and Pricing
Both models have 5,800 mAh batteries, offering long usage times, such as over 14 hours of light gaming. The phones support 45W SuperVOOC Flash Charge, which can charge the battery from 1% to 44% in 30 minutes. The batteries are designed to retain 80% of their original capacity after four years, ensuring long-term reliability.
The Reno13 F and Reno13 F 5G will first launch in the Asia-Pacific region, with pricing and release dates to be announced later. These devices are offered in four eye-catching color options—Plume Purple, Graphite Gray, Skyline Blue, and Luminous Blue.
