ASUS ROG Zephyrus G Series Gaming Laptops Unveiled With RTX 5090

At CES 2025, ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) unveiled the latest additions to its Zephyrus G series, the Zephyrus G14 and G16 ultraportable gaming laptops. These devices combine cutting-edge hardware with sleek, lightweight designs, targeting gamers and content creators who demand performance and portability.

ROG Zephyrus G14

Powered by the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor, the G14 pairs its CPU with up to an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 Laptop GPU. ASUS equipped the G14 with up to 64 GB of DDR5 RAM and up to 4 TB of PCIe 4.0 SSD storage, ensuring users have sufficient memory and storage for demanding applications.

The G14 features a 14-inch 3K OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and an extremely quick 0.2ms response time. The display delivers vibrant visuals, supporting 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, Dolby Vision, and VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500. The laptop weighs just 1.5kg and is 1.59cm thick, making it highly portable. Constructed with a CNC-milled aluminum chassis, it also meets MIL-STD-810H standards for durability.

To sustain its performance, ASUS designed the G14 with a thermal solution that increases cooling coverage by 47%. It utilizes 2nd Gen Arc Flow Fans to optimize airflow while maintaining low noise levels. ASUS added customizable AniMe Matrix LEDs to the lid, allowing users to display notifications or animations.

ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16

The Zephyrus G16 also appeared at CES 2025, taking performance to another level with its Intel Core Ultra 9 285H processor and up to an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop GPU. This configuration delivers even more power, catering to gamers and professionals who require top-tier hardware. Like the G14, the G16 supports up to 64 GB of DDR5 RAM and up to 4 TB of PCIe 4.0 SSD storage.

The G16 boasts a larger 16-inch 2.5K IPS display with a 240Hz refresh rate and a 3ms response time, making it ideal for competitive gaming. The screen supports the same color accuracy and HDR features as the G14, including 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, Dolby Vision, and VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500. Adaptive-Sync ensures smooth, tear-free visuals during high-refresh-rate gaming.

For cooling, ASUS included a liquid-metal thermal compound, optional vapor chamber coverage of 44%, and 2nd Gen Arc Flow Fans. These features maintain peak performance while keeping the laptop quiet and cool. Despite its larger screen, the G16 weighs just 1.85kg and measures 1.49cm thick, offering a balance of performance and portability. Like the G14, the G16 is built with a CNC-milled aluminum chassis for durability and meets MIL-STD-810H standards.
