Pakistan’s promising middle-order batter, Haider Ali, is among the 25 players selected for the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) ‘Strike-Force’ camp, scheduled to begin on Monday.
The camp, which is set to span 90 days, aims to nurture the country’s batters with power-hitting ability and is designed to prepare them for future T20 challenges.
The 90-Day Camp: Aims and Focus
The camp will be supervised by former Pakistan all-rounder Abdul Razzaq, who will guide the players through rigorous training focused on developing their power-hitting skills.
The selected players will report for the camp on Sunday, marking the beginning of a new chapter in Pakistan’s preparations for T20 internationals.
Young Talent in Focus: Haider Ali and Others
The camp will feature several exciting young talents, including Haider Ali, Khawaja Nafay, and Abbas Afridi, all of whom have shown potential in various domestic and international formats.
To facilitate their participation in the camp, the PCB has instructed the release of the selected players from their respective departmental teams for the ongoing President’s Trophy Grade-I tournament.
PCB’s Efforts to Strengthen Pakistan’s T20I Performance
This initiative comes as Pakistan continues to struggle in the T20 format. Following a disappointing ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, where Pakistan failed to make a significant impact, the team has been trying to rebuild its T20 squad.
After their historic ODI series win against Australia, Pakistan’s T20 woes resurfaced with a 3-0 series whitewash in the bilateral T20I series against Australia. The national team then faced Zimbabwe in a three-match T20I series, where they managed a 2-1 win but still struggled to assert dominance, losing the final match.
The Green Shirts then lost a subsequent series against South Africa where their lack of power-hitting resurfaced again.
The following 25 players have been selected for the ‘Strike-Force’ camp:

Yasir Khan | Khushdil Shah |
Muhammad Akhlaq | Imran Randhawa |
Saad Masood | Mubasir Khan |
