Hundreds of Pakistanis Deported from 12 Countries, Dozens Stopped from Leaving Pakistan

A total of 107 Pakistani nationals were deported from 12 countries, including the United States, Belgium, and Saudi Arabia, while 55 passengers heading abroad were offloaded at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport, immigration officers reported on Sunday.

According to reports, the frequent offloading of passengers has resulted in significant financial losses for travelers, as many lose their tickets in the process. It is estimated that the 50 offloaded passengers collectively suffered a loss of Rs 10 million.

Among those affected, four passengers traveling to Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Oman were on the stop list. Additionally, one passenger headed to Canada and two to Nepal with visit visas were offloaded.

Two passengers with visit visas for Türkiye and two others traveling to Azerbaijan on work visas were also barred from boarding.

In another instance, ten Umrah pilgrims were denied travel to Saudi Arabia due to inadequate funds and the absence of advance hotel bookings. A passenger with a Swiss permanent residency card also faced travel restrictions.

Travelers on work visas for Saudi Arabia, Oman, and Algeria, along with visitors to Iraq, the UAE, Malaysia, Somalia, Bahrain, Sri Lanka, Uganda, and Singapore, were stopped due to incomplete documentation.

Meanwhile, 107 Pakistanis were deported from countries including the United States, Belgium, and Saudi Arabia. From the UAE alone, 40 deportees arrived on multiple flights.

Immigration officials arrested 14 deportees upon their return to Pakistan on charges of drug trafficking and counterfeiting currency. Of these, 11 were detained in the UAE for alleged drug smuggling, while two were accused of circulating fake currency.

Reports revealed that many of the deported individuals had completed prison sentences abroad before being repatriated to Pakistan.
