ICC Delegation Reviews Preparations at Other Venues
While Gaddafi Stadium undergoes its transformation, an ICC delegation has been actively inspecting other venues to ensure they meet the standards required for hosting an international tournament of this magnitude.
Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium
The delegation recently visited Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, which is set to host three matches of the Champions Trophy. The stadium is also undergoing upgrades, with the development work expected to be completed by the end of January. The ICC officials reviewed the progress and expressed satisfaction with the ongoing efforts to prepare the venue for the tournament.
National Stadium, Karachi
The ICC team also visited the National Stadium in Karachi, where a six-member delegation, including broadcasters and logistics personnel, was briefed on the development work. The upgrades at the National Stadium are on track to be completed by January 25. Karachi will play a pivotal role in the tournament, as it is set to host the opening match between Pakistan and New Zealand on February 19.
