Ghandhara Automobiles Limited (GAL) recently launched the JAC T9 Hunter, marking a significant addition to Pakistan’s pickup truck market. Introduced on January 8, 2025, the vehicle has drawn substantial attention due to its bold design and extensive feature set. However, the company has temporarily suspended bookings, citing an overwhelming response that exceeded initial expectations.
JAC T9 Hunter has a bold and functional exterior. At the front, a large piano black grille with chrome accents and a prominent JAC logo gives it an imposing look. The vehicle features LED headlights, fog lamps, and DRLs integrated with parking lights, while a diffuser-style bumper adds to its rugged look.
The side profile showcases 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, silver roof rails, and keyless entry. The truck also includes practical elements such as side claddings, an iron roll bar, and hooks for securing cargo. At the rear, LED tail lamps and Hunter branding give it a modern, utilitarian appearance.
Inside, the JAC T9 Hunter balances practicality with modern features. The dashboard incorporates soft-touch materials with red stitching, matte chrome, and piano black trims. A 10.4-inch infotainment system provides essential information and entertainment, though its functionality remains somewhat static compared to advanced systems in other vehicles.
Convenience features include push-start ignition, a wireless charging pad, and adjustable electric seats. Rear passengers benefit from AC vents, USB ports, and a 220V socket, though the rear seat comfort is better suited for short to medium journeys. Overall, the cabin design offers a decent mix of comfort and utility.
Under the hood, the JAC T9 Hunter is powered by a 2000cc turbocharged diesel engine that generates 168 horsepower and 410 Nm of torque. The inclusion of four drive modes—Normal, Sports, Snow, and Eco—provides adaptability for varying driving conditions. While initial performance reports indicate sufficient power delivery, further testing on highways and off-road terrains will better determine its long-term capability.
With a price tag of PKR 9,750,000, JAC T9 Hunter positions itself as a high-end pickup truck in Pakistan. The company recently announced a temporary suspension of bookings, effective January 15, 2025, due to an unexpected surge in demand. GAL stated this decision was made to ensure timely deliveries and uphold service quality.
