FIA Stops Human Trafficking Under Disguise of Umrah

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Immigration team thwarted a major human trafficking plan disguised as an Umrah visa arrangement at Islamabad Airport.

According to the FIA spokesperson, five passengers, including a 16-year-old boy, were offloaded. The individuals, identified as Mehraaj Khan, Usman Khan, Asad Ali, and Murtaza Ali, were attempting to travel to Saudi Arabia on Umrah visas.

The suspects planned to move from Saudi Arabia to Libya and eventually reach Italy via sea routes. Investigations revealed they had struck deals with agents Wajid Khan and Faisal Khan, paying Rs. 3.9 million each for the arrangement. During the search, two Egyptian visas were also recovered from the suspects.

Initial inquiries indicate that additional visas were to be provided in Saudi Arabia through sub-agents.

The FIA’s timely operation exposed the trafficking network. The suspects were handed over to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle in Islamabad for further investigation and identification of their agents.
