World’s Biggest YouTuber Wants to Buy TikTok

After swooping in to rescue the suddenly shuttered accounting platform Bench in December, Jesse Tinsley’s Employer.com is now setting its sights on an even bigger prize. The HR tech company has reportedly joined forces with YouTube’s biggest content creator MrBeast in a bid to acquire TikTok, according to Bloomberg’s reporting.

The acquisition attempt brings some interesting political connections to the table, with Brad Bondi – whose sister Pam is Donald Trump’s attorney general nominee – serving as legal counsel for the bidding group. While the dollar amount remains under wraps, the all-cash offer signals serious intent from Tinsley’s coalition.

TikTok’s service interruption lasted less than 24 hours this weekend, ending just before President Trump issued a 75-day reprieve through executive order on Monday. The popular video-sharing platform had temporarily suspended its operations on Saturday night, only to restore service the following day.

The fate of TikTok’s ownership remains uncertain, with ByteDance, its Chinese parent company, showing little public interest in entertaining purchase offers. While Bloomberg News has reported several high-profile potential buyers, including tech mogul Elon Musk and corporate giants Amazon and Oracle, sources familiar with the matter suggest these discussions may be preliminary. A notable bid has emerged from a consortium led by real estate magnate Frank McCourt, though ByteDance’s willingness to negotiate remains unclear.

The executive order, signed by Trump on his second full day in office, effectively pauses any enforcement of the ban that had prompted TikTok’s brief shutdown. This development gives the platform’s 170 million American users a limited-time assurance of continued access while leaving the door open for potential ownership changes in the coming months.
