Delayed Salaries Continue to Plague Punjab Sports Board

The employees of the Punjab Sports Board have once again raised the issue of the delayed payment of emoluments during a challenging financial time gripping the governing body of sports in the province. Despite assurances, Punjab Sports Board employees are still awaiting their salaries for November and December.

This issue first came to light two weeks ago when media reports highlighted the delayed payments, drawing attention to the financial challenges faced by the board’s staff.

Salaries Remain Unpaid Despite Commitments

According to sources, the salaries of Punjab Sports Board employees remain unpaid, adding to the struggles of the workforce. While the file for the release of salaries is reportedly under review, Punjab Sports Board Director General Khizar Afzal had earlier assured that payments would be cleared promptly.

Employees Struggling Due to Financial Delays

Sources reveal that the delay in salaries has left many employees of the Punjab Sports Board in significant financial distress, with some finding it increasingly difficult to manage their daily expenses.

Partial Salary Payments Made Previously

It is worth noting that two months’ salaries were previously disbursed to the employees of the Directorate General of Sports. However, the pending payments for November and December have yet to be resolved.

This is not a singular instance of delayed payments to the working staff in Pakistan’s sports governance. Years of mismanagement have finally caught up with the administrators which threatens the entire sports framework in the country let alone Punjab.
