Two imposters, identified as Shegan Jamshed and Jamshed Khan, have been arrested for posing as officers from Pakistan’s intelligence agencies and blackmailing Senate officials. The suspects confessed to extorting influential individuals and deceiving people by falsely promising government jobs.
According to reports, the fraudsters were running a scam, offering Senate job appointments in exchange for money. A case has been registered at the Secretariat police station following a complaint from a senior Senate officer.
Investigations led by Inquiry Officer Muhammad Akbar revealed that Shegan Jamshed is the son of a retired major. He not only scammed officials but also secured a Senate job for a female acquaintance through fraudulent means.
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has formally arrested the accused, who is also linked to another multi-million rupee fraud case. He reportedly used a fake Senate Secretariat agency card to manipulate officials and complete personal tasks.
During the raid, FIA officials recovered:
- Six mobile phones
- Two laptops
- A hard drive and DVR
- An internet device
- Fake documents linked to multiple ministries
- Photographs of the accused dressed in army uniforms
Authorities also discovered that the suspects were involved in scamming citizens under the pretense of clearing customs shipments.
