The Vigilance and Meat Safety Task Force launched a crackdown at Bakra Mandi, seizing 1,500 kilograms of hazardous meat.
During the operation, four warehouses were sealed, and a supplier rickshaw was impounded. Legal cases were registered against those involved. Authorities discovered four diseased and dead animals inside the warehouses.

The supplier rickshaw was found transporting sick and underage animals for meat processing. Meanwhile, the warehouses were secretly processing meat from dead animals, cutting their necks to falsely depict them as properly slaughtered. These animals had been smuggled in from surrounding areas.
Timely intervention prevented the distribution of substandard meat. Citizens are encouraged to report such illegal activities to the Punjab Food Authority helpline at 1223.
