Another Incomplete Inauguration as Serena Chowk Interchange Gets a New Name

Authorities have renamed the Serena Chowk Interchange to Islamabad Jinnah Square and installed a statue of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah at the site. The renaming honors the Father of the Nation, keeping his legacy alive in the country’s capital.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif inaugurated Jinnah Square two days ago, marking the completion of the road project. The interchange has three underpasses, with one already open for traffic.

Final Preparations

Workers are finishing the connecting roads to ensure smooth traffic flow. Workers have decorated the interchange with bright lights, fresh flowers, and trees, creating a beautiful and welcoming look for the ceremony.

The current government has made a habit of inaugurating road projects at “record times,” months before there actual completion. Rawal Chowk, Jinnah Avenue and Serena Chowk are a few recent examples where projects were inaugurated up to 18 months before their actual completion.

  • I think, being a Muslim country we should not prepare & place statues of any type to give tribute to our founders & leaders. Because any type of statue is against the basic ideology of islam. It is good to rename famous places to our respected leaders
