Apple may soon begin its 2025 product lineup with the highly anticipated iPhone SE 4. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple plans to launch the device in the coming days, with an official announcement likely next week. Unlike previous launches, Apple will skip a dedicated event and introduce the iPhone SE 4 through a press release, making it available for purchase later this month at a starting price of $499.
Reports indicate that inventory levels of the iPhone SE (2022) have been running low at Apple retail stores, further suggesting that a replacement is imminent. The iPhone SE 4 will mark a major milestone for Apple, as it will likely be the first iPhone to feature an in-house cellular modem, significantly reducing reliance on Qualcomm’s components.
Apple will design the iPhone SE 4 based on the iPhone 14, equipping it with a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display featuring a notch and a similar button layout. This will be a notable upgrade from the previous iPhone SE, which retained the older iPhone 8-style design with thick bezels and a home button.
On the back, the iPhone SE 4 will come with a single 48MP main camera, a significant jump from the 12MP shooter on its predecessor. Apple will equip the device with its A18 chipset and 8GB of RAM, enabling it to run Apple Intelligence features efficiently.
Apple will replace the Lightning port with a USB-C connector to comply with new European Union regulations, which mandate USB-C on all small and medium-sized electronic devices.
With its modern design, improved performance, and regulatory compliance, the iPhone SE 4 is shaping up to be a good contender in Apple’s entry-level lineup. While Apple remains tight-lipped, all signs indicate that the official reveal is just around the corner.
