Punjab Announces Exam and Result Schedule for Academic Year 2025-26

The Punjab Education Department has finalized the schedule for the upcoming academic year, with classes for 2025-26 set to begin on April 1.

The annual exams for the current academic session (2024-25) will be conducted from March 10 to March 20 across more than 42,000 government schools in Punjab, with over 6.5 million students expected to participate.

Results will be released in the last week of March. Meanwhile, changes have been introduced to the examination format for matriculation students.

The Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board (PCTB) has revised the marking scheme for Islamic Studies and Pakistan Studies, increasing their total marks from 50 to 100 each. As per the new policy, Islamic Studies will be assessed in ninth grade, while Pakistan Studies will be examined in tenth grade.

The updated syllabus reflecting these changes has already been incorporated into new textbooks, and the printing process is currently underway.

Education officials believe these adjustments will enhance students’ understanding of both subjects and improve overall academic standards.
