CDA to Hire Cybersecurity Firm to Protect Digital Infrastructure

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to engage a cybersecurity firm to safeguard its digital infrastructure and services against potential cyber threats.

The decision was taken during a board meeting after a summary was presented by the Member (T&D). The firm will be hired in accordance with the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) rules of 2004 and will also be responsible for providing cybersecurity training to the IT Directorate staff.

The IT Wing has been directed to complete the hiring process in consultation with the Planning and Coordination (P&C) Directorate. This step comes amid increasing concerns over cyber threats to government institutions and their digital assets. The engagement of the cybersecurity firm is aimed at strengthening CDA’s defenses and ensuring the safety of critical digital services.

In addition to hiring a cybersecurity firm, the board has approved the reorganization of the IT Directorate. The “Computer Directorate” has been officially renamed as the “Information Technology Directorate.” The board also gave principal approval for the hiring process of vacant posts in the IT Directorate on a contract basis through the Human Resource Development (HRD) Directorate.

The organizational structure of the IT Directorate has been revised, with the HRD Directorate instructed to retrieve vacant or redundant posts from various formations within the CDA and transfer them to the IT Directorate with the approval of the Chairman.

The HRD Directorate has been directed to complete this process within one month. Furthermore, the nomenclature of existing positions will be changed, and office orders will be issued accordingly.

The services of a project employee, Deputy Director (Software GSTW), will now be utilized within the IT Directorate.
