According to Rafaqat Ali, the infant’s father, the hospital staff was unresponsive and dismissive when questioned about the incident. He claimed they were rude and even expelled him from the nursery. Ali has appealed to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for justice, urging an investigation and action against those responsible for the negligence.

Notably, in 2023, another infant died from burns after an overheating incident in an incubator at Lahore’s Children’s Hospital. This incident prompted a visit from the then Caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab, Mohsin Naqvi, who received a briefing and formed a four-member investigation committee to determine the causes.
