Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Announces Meeting Date for Shawwal Moon Sighting

The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will meet on Sunday, March 30, 2025 (29th Ramazan), to determine the sighting of the Shawwal moon, which will mark the end of Ramadan and confirm the date for Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations in Pakistan.

The main session will be held at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, where religious scholars, meteorologists, and other officials will assess moon sighting reports from different regions. Zonal committees will also hold meetings in their respective areas to gather testimonies.

According to astronomical predictions, the Shawwal moon is expected to be visible on March 30, making Eid-ul-Fitr likely on March 31. However, the final decision will be based on verified testimonies, as Pakistan follows the tradition of unaided-eye moon sightings for official confirmation.
