PVF Unveils Ambitious International Volleyball Calendar for 2025

The Pakistan Volleyball Federation (PVF) is set to elevate the nation’s volleyball scene with a series of high-profile international events in 2025. In addition to hosting the 54th National Volleyball Championship at Wah Cantt from April 4 to 10, PVF will stage two major international tournaments, as announced by PVF Chairman Chaudhry Mohammad Yaqoob.

The first of these is an eight-nation Central Asian League scheduled to be held in Islamabad from May 28 to June 4. The tournament will see India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Sri Lanka going head to head.

Complementing the league, Pakistan will host a five-match Under-19 series against Russia in the capital from June 23 to 30. The series is designed to provide the junior national team with critical match practice ahead of the upcoming World Championship in Uzbekistan, set to take place from July 21 to August 3.

Reflecting on previous international engagements, PVF president highlighted last year’s successes, which included a 3-0 series win against Australia, a runner-up finish at the AVC Challenge Cup in Bahrain by the senior team, and a gold medal victory in the six-nation Central Asian Volleyball League held in Islamabad. He also emphasized the need for increased support from both the government and private sponsors to harness the nation’s untapped talent and sustain the positive momentum in international competitions.

With this comprehensive schedule, the PVF aims to bolster Pakistan’s standing in the international volleyball arena and provide valuable competitive exposure to its players as they continue to punch above their weight with pure grit leading the way.
