Punjab Announces New Timings for Schools After Eid Holidays

The Punjab Education Department has issued a notification announcing revised school timings, which will be implemented after the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays. The new schedule will take effect on April 7 and remain in place until October 15.

For single-shift schools, classes will begin at 8:00 am and end at 1:30 pm, while on Fridays, schools will close earlier at 12:00 pm.

In double-shift schools, the first shift will run from 8:00 am to 12:30 pm, with Friday timings adjusted to conclude at 12:00 pm. The second shift will start at 1:00 pm and end at 5:30 pm, except on Fridays, when it will begin at 2:30 pm.

The Punjab government has also announced that schools will remain closed for Eidul Fitr from March 28 (Friday) to April 6 (Sunday). Regular academic activities will resume on April 7.

Additionally, the results of annual examinations will be announced on April 4, providing students and parents with clarity on academic performance before the new school year begins.

The Secretary of the School Education Department confirmed the changes on Wednesday, stating that the extended break would allow students and teachers to celebrate Eid with their families and return refreshed for the new term.

Separately, the Punjab Higher Education Department has announced Eid holidays for public and private colleges across the province. According to the notification, all colleges will remain closed from March 28 (Friday) to April 2 (Wednesday).
