Noor Zaman Powers Into Quarter-Finals of U23 World Squash Championships

Pakistan’s rising squash star Noor Zaman continued his impressive run at the 2025 U23 World Squash Championships, booking his place in the quarter-finals after another commanding performance on home soil.

Playing in front of home crowd in Karachi, second-seed Noor Zaman outclassed Poland’s Jakub Pytlowany to secure his spot in the last eight of the prestigious event. The victory came on the back of an impressive triumph in the previous round against Kuwait’s Hussain Alzaatari.

Noor, who is carrying Pakistan’s hopes in the tournament, showed great composure and fitness in both encounters. Against Alzaatari, the young Pakistani prevailed with a 3-1 win. He followed that up with another clinical display against Pytlowany, staying aggressive and tactically sharp throughout to clinch his quarter-final berth.

Noor Zaman is not the only hopeful for the home nation during the ongoing U23 World Squash Championships. His compatriot Hamza Khan also remains in contention for the quarter-final stage.

With home fans rallying behind him, Noor Zaman will now look to push further into the tournament as he eyes a spot in the semi-finals—and perhaps even dreams of lifting the title on home turf.

The 2025 U23 World Squash Championships, being staged in Karachi, has provided the perfect stage for young squash athletes to showcase their growing reputation as some of the brightest young talents in international squash. The inaugural edition will end with a grand finale on April 10.
