Vivo has just expanded its V50 lineup with the new V50e, joining the previously launched V50, V50 Lite 4G, and V50 Lite 5G. The V50e aims to offer a premium experience at a competitive price, bringing an updated design, an improved camera system, and a faster-charging battery than its predecessor.
Design and Display
The Vivo V50e arrives with a sleek, quad-curved AMOLED screen measuring 6.77 inches. This display supports a 120Hz refresh rate and Full HD+ resolution, ensuring smooth visuals for videos and games. Protected by Diamond Shield Glass developed in collaboration with Schott Glass, the panel delivers up to 1,800 nits brightness for HDR content and a maximum of 2,700 nits peak brightness at a reduced screen area.
An in-display fingerprint scanner offers quick unlocking, while a centered punch-hole cutout houses the selfie camera. The phone also holds IP68 and IP69 ratings for water and dust resistance.
Internals and Software
Under the hood, a Dimensity 7300 chipset powers the V50e, paired with 8GB RAM. Buyers can choose between 128GB and 256GB storage configurations. Running on Funtouch OS 15 (based on Android 15), the device promises three Android version upgrades and four years of security updates. This long support window ensures that users can keep their phones updated with the latest software features and patches.
Cameras
The back of the V50e features a Sony IMX882-based 50MP primary camera equipped with OIS, paired with another 50MP ultrawide lens offering a 116° field of view. A circular Aura Light flash complements the setup, which also includes India-exclusive wedding-style portrait filters (Prosecco, Neo-Retro, Pastel) and AI features like Image Expander and Photo Enhancer.
Up front, a 50MP selfie camera sits in the punch-hole cutout and now supports 4K video recording.
Battery and Pricing
A 5,600 mAh battery powers the V50e, and Vivo has increased the charging speed to 90W—up from the 80W seen in the previous generation. Color options include Sapphire Blue and Pearl White. The phone will be available in India starting April 17, priced at $340 for the 8GB/128GB model and $360 for the 8GB/256GB variant.
