Locations of Cattle Markets in Karachi for Eid-ul-Adha Revealed

The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has decided to establish nine sacrificial animal markets across the city ahead of Eid-ul-Adha 2025.

The update was shared during a meeting chaired by Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab, where preparations for the cattle markets were reviewed. Officials confirmed that the auction process for these markets has been completed and award letters will be issued soon.

The designated locations include Sunday Car Bazaar in 11-D New Karachi, KMC Ground near Samanabad Police Station, Northern Bypass Slaughterhouse in Surjani Town, Cattle Colony in Surjani, Cattle Colony in Bin Qasim, Chicken Feed Mill Ground, Cattle Market on Korangi Industrial Road, Bakar Piri Cattle Market in Lyari, and KMC Ground behind Safari Park in Gulistan-i-Jauhar.

Senior Director-Veterinary Iftekhar Ahmed informed the meeting that all nine markets would soon be operational. He added that preparations are underway to ensure smooth functioning during the festival season.

Mayor Wahab instructed officials to provide proper facilities, maintain cleanliness, and ensure transparency in tax collection across all markets. He emphasised the importance of organised management to accommodate the large number of citizens expected to participate in Eid-ul-Adha animal purchases.
