Shadab Khan has set a unique Pakistan Super League record after dismissing Mohammad Rizwan in the duo’s latest outing in PSL 2025.
Islamabad United’s captain has made a habit of dismissing the Multan Sultans’ skipper during their encounters—and now it’s official: no bowler has gotten a single batter out more times in the history of the Pakistan Super League than him. Shadab Khan removed Rizwan yet again tonight in their most recent clash, getting him caught out and making it six dismissals overall in PSL encounters—the most by any bowler against a single batter.
Ironically, Shadab Khan was also the one to get Mohammad Rizwan out last time these two sides met in PSL 2025 earlier. After not getting the better of Rizwan when they faced off in 2017 and 2021, Shadab has dismissed him twice for a third straight year after 2023, 2024, and now 2025.
| Series | Runs | Balls | Outs | Dots | 4s | 6s | SR | Avg |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pakistan Super League (2017) | 1 | 3 | 0 | 2 | 0 | 0 | 33.3 | – |
| Pakistan Super League (2021) | 14 | 18 | 0 | 8 | 1 | 0 | 77.8 | – |
| Pakistan Super League (2023) | 8 | 6 | 2 | 2 | 1 | 0 | 133.3 | 4.0 |
| Pakistan Super League (2024) | 3 | 7 | 2 | 4 | 0 | 0 | 42.9 | 1.5 |
| Pakistan Super League (2025) | 11 | 12 | 2 | 4 | 1 | 0 | 91.7 | 5.5 |
| Total | 37 | 46 | 6 | 20 | 3 | 0 | 80.4 | 6.2 |
Whether it’s clever variations or smart field settings, Shadab seems to know exactly how to trouble Rizwan—and the numbers back it up. Whether it’s Islamabad United’s meticulous planning or Shadab’s skill, the record speaks volumes about both players’ abilities.
Whether Multan Sultans and Islamabad United will meet once more this season remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: this stat will add an extra bit of spice every time Islamabad and Multan meet from now on.
