The Sindh government has officially announced a public holiday across the province on Wednesday, May 1, in observance of International Labour Day.
According to a notification issued by the Services, General Administration and Coordination Department, all government and semi-government institutions will remain closed on the day.
The notification further confirmed that all educational institutions — including schools, colleges, and universities — will also observe the holiday.
Labour Day, observed globally on May 1, serves as a tribute to workers and their contributions. The day is marked to highlight the importance of protecting labour rights and ensuring fair treatment of industrial and daily wage workers.
The holiday reflects the Sindh government’s recognition of the struggles and contributions of the working class and its commitment to upholding their rights.
