This New EV SUV Offers 470 KM Range, Could Reach Pakistan Soon

Chery’s Jaecoo brand unveiled the Jaecoo J5, a compact all-electric SUV, at the Shanghai Auto Show 2025. With its efficient electric drivetrain, advanced driver assistance systems, and practical design, the J5 enters the competitive global EV market. Although Chery has not confirmed its launch in Pakistan, its recent local partnerships suggest the J5 could be under consideration.

Battery, Performance, and Range

The Jaecoo J5 runs on a 61 kWh battery and delivers a driving range of up to 470 km under the NEDC cycle and 400 km under the WLTP standard. Its electric motors generate 155 kW of power and 288 Nm of torque, enabling the SUV to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.7 seconds. With front-wheel drive and a towing capacity of 1,250 kg, the J5 handles both everyday driving and light hauling tasks.

Exterior Design

The J5 measures 4.3 meters in length and features a hexagonal front bumper with sleek LED Daytime Running Lights (DRLs). Its compact design suits both urban and highway environments while maintaining a sharp, contemporary look.

Interior and Driver Assistance Technology

Inside the cabin, the J5 features a 13.2-inch infotainment touchscreen that controls media, navigation, and vehicle settings. It includes a Child Mode for added safety when traveling with young passengers. The SUV also integrates Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), which support lane-keeping, adaptive cruise control, and automatic emergency braking.

Pakistan Launch?

Chery has not made any public announcements to launch the Jaecoo J5 in Pakistan, but the vehicle’s specifications match the growing demand for electric vehicles in the region. With Chery expanding its presence through local partnerships, the J5 remains a strong candidate for future introduction.
