Multan Sultans’ captain Mohammad Rizwan has admitted that his team is now out of the race for the PSL 10 playoffs, blaming repeated mistakes for their disappointing campaign.
After their latest defeat, Rizwan said, “I think we’re now out of the tournament. It probably makes things easier for the other teams, as the qualification scenarios are now simpler. We lost momentum at key stages, which is crucial in T20 cricket, and that ultimately cost us the game. Unfortunately, we kept repeating the same mistakes.”
The Sultans started PSL 10 with a four-wicket loss to Karachi Kings. They then lost two more matches against Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi before finally securing their first win by beating Lahore Qalandars at home. However, the team could not build on that victory and went on to lose four matches in a row, which officially knocked them out of the playoff race.
In their must-win match against Karachi Kings, Multan Sultans suffered a heavy defeat, losing by 87 runs while chasing a target of 205.
