In an extraordinary night of batting brilliance at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Rilee Rossouw and Hasan Nawaz etched their names into Pakistan Super League (PSL) folklore during Quetta Gladiators’ demolition of Islamabad United.
Hassan Nawaz and Rilee Rossouw are now the first and only pair to score centuries in the same innings in PSL history. Their record-smashing knocks powered Quetta Gladiators to 263/3, the highest team total in PSL history, against an increasingly clueless United.
This wasn’t just a batting masterclass—it was a statement from a Quetta side that’s often flown under the radar this season.
After a shaky start that saw Quetta lose both openers inside the first six overs, Rossouw and Hasan Nawaz took control and never let go. The pair added 134 runs in ten overs, launching a relentless assault that no bowler could survive.
Rossouw, the experienced South African left-hander, brought his A-game for this contest after recent struggles. He raced to 104 off just 46 balls, slamming 14 boundaries and 6 sixes in a knock that combined precision with raw power. At the other end, Hasan Nawaz, the young Pakistani talent, played the defining innings of his fledgling career. Unbeaten on 100 from 45 balls, he was fearless, calculated, and explosive—clubbing 9 sixes and 4 fours en route to his maiden PSL century.
It’s the first time in the league’s ten-season history that two batters from the same team have crossed the three-figure mark in a single innings.
Twin centuries in a single T20 innings are a rare sight globally, let alone in the PSL. However, their feat should not be taken for granted. Islamabad United struggled mightily in reply and sit at 68/7 at the time of writing.
As far as statistical landmarks go, this is one that might stand the test of time—two centurions from one side, both scoring at over a 220 strike rate, in a league known for tight finishes and high-pressure bowling.
With this performance, Quetta not only flexed its batting prowess but, more importantly, sent a signal to the rest of the tournament—this team is peaking at the right time.
For now, though, the spotlight belongs to Rossouw and Hasan Nawaz—the first-ever duo to score twin hundreds in a PSL innings. A historic night, a record-breaking stand, and a reminder that in T20 cricket, fireworks can come in pairs.
