PSL 10 Match Between Zalmi and Kings in Rawalpindi Called Off

In a not-at-all unexpected development, tonight’s PSL 10 match between Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings in Rawalpindi has been officially postponed. The decision was confirmed by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) just hours before the scheduled toss, amid mounting security concerns in the region.

This marks the first direct disruption to the on-field schedule since rising tensions along the eastern border began casting a shadow over the tournament. While the PCB had thus far managed to keep the competition moving by relocating matches to Karachi and tightening security, Rawalpindi has now become untenable for hosting live games under the current climate.

Both Zalmi and Kings remain in the hunt for the PSL 10 playoffs, and tonight’s contest was supposed to be a thrilling affair. For both teams, this postponement interrupts key momentum. Zalmi, building momentum after wins, were hoping to close the gap on Lahore Qalandars, while Karachi was aiming to put some distance between them and Islamabad United for that coveted Qualifier spot.

Fans in Rawalpindi will also be left disappointed, but in a season overshadowed by uncertainty off the field, the priority has clearly shifted toward caution and contingency.

The PCB is expected to issue a full statement shortly, and more scheduling changes could follow depending on how the broader situation develops.
