Pakistan has reportedly shot down a total of 77 Indian drones in recent days, according to a report by state broadcaster PTV News, citing security sources.
The channel reported that 29 drones were taken down by the evening of May 8, with another 48 drones destroyed since last night. These developments come amid heightened tensions between the two neighbouring countries, with Pakistan responding to what it described as continued Indian provocations.
Security officials told PTV that Pakistan’s armed forces were giving a “befitting response” to India’s actions, and the drone takedowns were part of broader defensive measures to protect national security and territorial sovereignty.
Authorities have not disclosed the specific types of drones shot down or the exact locations of the interceptions.
