GCU to Offer Hundreds of Additional Seats for Inter Admission

In a major development for aspiring college students, Government College University (GCU) Lahore has announced the availability of 1,200 new seats for its intermediate programme, offered on an open merit basis.

According to the Director of Intermediate Studies, the newly introduced admissions will be available in two shifts: the second shift (2 PM to 6 PM) at the Main Campus, and the morning shift at the Kala Shah Kaku (KSK) Campus.

The Main Campus will offer second-shift admissions in several streams, including Pre-Medical, Pre-Engineering, Computer Science, General Science, Commerce, and Humanities. Meanwhile, the KSK Campus will accommodate students in the morning shift for Pre-Medical, Pre-Engineering, and Computer Science disciplines.

Expanding Access for Students Nationwide

Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Omer Chaudhry emphasized the university’s commitment to promoting accessible and quality education. “Even after attaining university status, GCU remains dedicated to intermediate education and continues to operate a separate directorate to manage it,” he stated.

He highlighted that GCU aims to attract high-achieving students from across the country, including those from remote regions such as Gilgit-Baltistan, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Sindh.

The Kala Shah Kaku Campus, now welcoming intermediate-level students, boasts modern educational facilities, including purpose-built classrooms, residential hostels, and a dedicated shuttle service, designed to support students’ academic and personal needs.

This move is expected to significantly increase enrollment opportunities for students seeking quality intermediate education in a prestigious institution.
